5 Ways Your Business LinkedIn Page Will Attract Top Talent

Ask any business owner what their hurdles are for 2022, and I bet you “hiring and keeping top talent” is high on that list. When it comes to hiring top talent, your business LinkedIn page can do a lot of the heavy lifting for you. Consider it your secondary website where your current and future employees can connect, comment and share ideas for a more well-rounded employee/employer connection.

Not sure where to start? Here are five easy ways to refresh your business LinkedIn page and attract top talent:

  1. Update Your Header: This is often the first graphic that captures a viewer’s attention. Make sure it fits within the (very weird) LinkedIn banner dimensions and either shows your team in action, or a list of services/your tagline that support your brand.

  2. Invite Followers: LinkedIn will allow an administrator to invite up to 100 people every month to like your business page. Do this regularly. It’s an easy process and will only take a few minutes. You can do it while waiting in line for your coffee. By increasing the number of followers on your page, you’re increasing your brand reach to include more possible candidates.

  3. Follow the 80/20 Rule: This is the content rule we live by at Next Page. No matter the platform, 80% of your content should be informative, educational or fun/personal. The other 20% should include direct calls to action for your business including signing up for a newsletter, making a purchase and more. Future candidates can see what type of content is important on your company page, and the level of engagement/comments from current employees will say a lot about your work culture and team environment.

  4. Track Analytics: You don’t know which content to post more of if you don’t know what’s performing the best! LinkedIn makes it easy to track analytics through the dashboard on your LinkedIn page. You can track how many followers you gained, how many pairs of eyeballs saw your content, and how many people took the action of clicking through to a link you shared. (Pro Tip: If you are actively hiring, send all posts to a hiring portal on your website).

  5. And, finally, Use Hashtags: Yeah, we’re still kind of on the fence about using hashtags on LinkedIn, but with the adjustments of the LinkedIn algorithm over the last few months, hashtags are proving to help. It will introduce your posts into larger conversations around topics that matter to you and, you never know, it may go viral.

There are a lot of active ways you can recruit top talent, but we’re not a hiring agency. We’re a marketing agency. And marketing your business is as much about making sales as it is about finding the right people for your team. Need a little more help? Contact our team today.
